Why priest should not get married

Good evening, everyone my name is Franz Brigel I am a Guildmaster and a Roman and I am here to talk about why priest should not get married. As we know marriages of priest got banned in AD 300. The Council of Elvira stated that all “bishops, presbyters, and deacons and all other clerics were to abstain completely from their wives and not to have children”. So why would we try and rewrite history and change this law? If we leap forward into time there were a set of laws called the cannon laws one of the most famous laws is (cannon 33):  “It is decided that marriage be altogether prohibited to bishops, priests, and deacons, or to all clerics placed in the ministry, and that they keep away from their wives and not beget children; whoever does this shall be deprived of the honor of the clerical office”. St. Paul even writes, “He who refrains from marriage will do better” (1 Corinthians 7:38). While having a spouse can help people grow in faith it will eventually distract them from the ultimate mission of the priesthood which is to lead the flock and following the direct will of God. Eight out of ten pastors and their mates are managing discouragement and 80% of pastors say they spend inadequate time with their companions, so it is ideal to follow God and not a get tangled up with a relationship. Jesus himself lived a chaste life and never married and at one point in the Bible is referred to as a eunuch (Matthew 19:12), though most scholars believe that this was intended metaphorically. The implication was that Jesus lived a celibate life like a eunuch.  Many of his disciples were also chaste and celibate. The law of celibacy expresses that a priest should remain unmarried and physically missing for strict reasons and any priest who decides to get married should have their title as priest removed the roots of celibacy necessities pass lower back to Jesus According to the Bible, he became a single virgin. In the Bible, Jesus is regularly likened to a bridegroom whose bride is the Church. Those who are satisfied with the cutting-edge policies say priestly celibacy lets in monks time and strength to awareness absolutely on their flock and to emulate Jesus, who became single, greater faithfully. But folks that would love to peer married priesthood argue celibacy is so tough for lots of guys that it dissuades humans from the priesthood and may result in sexually immature humans pastoring their flocks. The Latin Church sees celibacy as a vital subject, it sees celibacy as a signal that the priest’s consecration to the Lord is with an undivided coronary heart, in which they supply themselves totally to God and to men. Celibacy is an indication of this new existence to the carrier of which the church’s minister is consecrated; familiar with a joyous coronary heart celibacy radiantly pronounces the Reign of God” Theologically, it may be pointed out that priests serve in the place of Christ and therefore, their ministry specially configures them to Christ. As is clear from Scripture, Christ was not married by remaining celibate and devoting themselves to the service of the Church, priests more closely model, configure themselves to, and consecrate themselves to Christ. The Catholic Church has consistently realized that a minister who is a family-situated individual has a heart that is leaned toward the family and away from faith. History shows that there was consistently a practice of a priest leaving the congregation for his loved ones. Another big reason priest should not be married is that there were a lot of areas where priest was not liked so they should be liberated from family ties since there are dangers of becoming a priest and their families would be in danger of being killed which isn’t fair for the children or the wife, the expense of supporting a family is multiple times more costly than a priest who stays away from a family. there is a big issue of the split heart among service and family priestly celibacy. Another reason priest should not marry and have kids is because several priests treated their job as a family business, meaning they were giving preference to their sons for positions and trying to edge out the competition so there would be more fit men who would be a better priest but wouldn’t get the job because the son of the already existing priest would always be able to get their son the job. Nobody ever said remaining unmarried and not having kids is easy. It takes a certain type of believer in order to become a priest instead of having four priest who don’t take there job seriously id rather have one priest who follows every rule to exact for these reasonings priest must remain unmarried.
